ABOUT

Infemism exists to educate, clarify, and remove the stigma that has grown around feminism.

Over time, the word feminism has become burdened with misunderstanding, stigma, and deliberate distortion. It is often framed as extreme, divisive, anti-men, or political — none of which reflects its original meaning.

Infemism was created to encourage conversation and learning about the foundations of feminism.

At its core, feminism simply means the belief that women and men should have equal rights, equal dignity, and equal opportunity. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Infemism is about helping people understand that basic truth.

Our Purpose

Infemism focuses on:

  • educating people about what feminism actually means
  • separating fact from myth and misinformation
  • removing stigma attached to the word “feminist”
  • creating space for respectful, informed conversation
  • encouraging critical thinking rather than ideological alignment

We believe many people already hold feminist values — even if they hesitate to use the word. Infemism exists to bridge that gap between values and understanding.

What Infemism Is (and Is Not)

Infemism is:

  • educational
  • values-based
  • inclusive
  • grounded in equality and fairness

Infemism is not:

  • anti-men
  • a political party or campaign
  • a belief system that demands agreement
  • a movement that tells people how to think
  • a replacement for anyone’s existing values or beliefs

You do not have to identify as a feminist to engage with Infemism.
Curiosity, openness, and good faith are enough.

Why This Work Matters

Language shapes culture.
When feminism is misrepresented, the goals of equality and fairness are undermined.

By clarifying what feminism actually is — and what it is not — Infemism aims to:

  • reduce unnecessary conflict
  • encourage empathy and understanding
  • make conversations about feminism less polarised

Education, not accusation, is the foundation of meaningful change.

A Simple Definition

If Infemism had to be summed up in one sentence, it would be this:

Feminism is about equality — and Infemism is about helping people see that clearly.
